Send a prompt to a session

agh session prompt <id> <message> [flags]

Examples

  # Send a follow-up prompt to an active session
  agh session prompt sess_1234 "Summarize the current changes."

  # Queue input while the session is busy
  agh session prompt sess_1234 "Run the next check." --queue

  # Steer the current turn after the next tool result
  agh session prompt sess_1234 "Prefer the smaller patch." --steer

  # Cancel queued input by entry id
  agh session prompt sess_1234 --cancel queue_entry_1234

Options

      --cancel string   Cancel a queued prompt entry by id
  -h, --help            help for prompt
      --interrupt       Interrupt the active turn before sending this prompt
      --queue           Queue the prompt if the session is busy
      --steer           Stage steering guidance for the active turn

Options inherited from parent commands

      --json            Emit JSON output
  -o, --output string   Output format: human, json, jsonl, or toon (default "human")

Output Formats

Every AGH command supports -o, --output:

  • human for interactive terminal use
  • json for scripts and other machine-readable consumers
  • jsonl for wait or streaming commands that emit one JSON record per line
  • toon for compact agent-readable summaries
